Powerhouse drum and bass pair, Chase and Status are known for big hits, unique style and being able to evolve with the times of the music scene even after 23 years in the business and this show just reinforced how incredible they are and how big a journey they have been on since the early days.
I first heard of Chase and Status when they released "End Credits" in 2009 which features Plan B and even though it isn't usually my go to listening it hit a part of me that made me fall in love.
Through the years I've been in and out of sync with keeping up with what they release but every now and again something comes up and it immediately takes me back to the first time I heard them, so when the opportunity to see them live came up, I knew I couldn't miss the chance.
From early on, the crowd were ready for an incredible night but I don't think anything expected us for what was to come. As the Duo entered the stage along with Takura fronting the night the 10 thousand capacity arena erupted into screams and from the first moment we had a production that put so many shows to shame.
An electronic backboard that showed parts of music videos, or artists they collab'd with performing their section, lasers beaming through the arena and an incredible amount of fire, this was definitely a show of the year performance.
Every section of seated was up on their feet dancing and singing and the floor was visibly bouncing as the crowd went crazy for songs such as "Liquor and Cigarettes" "NRG" and of course the insanely popular "Backbone".
Chase and Status have this incredible way of making an arena show feel like a nightclub rave and it works and no matter the size of the crowd and size of production it feels intimate. It feels personal. But more than anything, you leave on such a high and a body filled with adrenaline.
I seriously hope to catch these guys again soon because it'll take something special to beat that kind of show.
