Mcfly brought so much energy to Lincoln Castle that we're still trying to catch up with what happened
Before we got to the main event, we had the pleasure of welcoming Twin Atlantic to the stage, The Scottish group got the crowd warmed up almost immediately with big riffs and big singalongs. Even those unfamiliar with the band were up and dancing. Even though frontman Sam was poorly on the night you wouldn't have been able to tell if he didn't mention anything as he brought the same power and energy as he does to every performance.
Then as the sun was getting ready to set behind the castle, Mcfly entered the stage and the crowd went absolutely wild. From the opening song "Where Did All the Guitars Go" the fans were jumping up and down and singing back to the band in full voice.
The bands energy was infectious and it stayed that way through the night even during the slower songs such as "Obviously" and "All About You" but it was also a fun mix of songs from throughout their career. "Land of the Bees" "Room on the 3rd Floor" "Shine A Light" "Star Girl" and finishing with "5 Colours in Her Hair" in which they were joined by Toms son, Buzz.
The night was a showcase of just how good Mcfly are and just how long they've been around. The crowd had everybody from kids to young adults that grew up with them and then their parents who took them all the way back in the beginning to watch them who also grew up loving the band.
Overall Mcfly at Lincoln Castle was everything you could have asked for and so much more. Great weather, Great music, Great crowd and an absolutely stunning back drop for it all.
