State Champs are a staple in every pop-punk kids life whether it started during 'The Finer Things''Around the World and Back' or their latest release 'State Champs'

Kicking off the night were Virginia band 'Broadside' not having spent much time listening to these I was excited to see what they would be like and I was blown away from their opening song 'Stranger'
This band are full of heavy hitting riffs and beats along with beautifully structured lyrics and they kept the room bouncing all the way to the end of their set. Definitely a band I want to keep checking out.
Then we moved onto 'The Home Team' a band I had heard so many things about but had never had the opportunity to catch them live and to tell the truth I have been missing out.
This band have quickly turned into one of my favourites with their songs hitting my playlists as soon as I left the show. The fast pace of the band along with their high energy performance just fills your body with excitement and adrenaline.
The perfect support act for a band like State Champs as jumps and kicks happened all over the stage as the singer kept grinning towards the fans who were singing back to every song.
Now here come State Champs. A band I have loved for the longest of times and have seen live a number of times. Derek is such a strong performing front man and the band are just as good at show-boating their talents.
Opening the night with 'Silver Cloud' 'Losing Myself' and Mine is Gold' it set the most incredible tempo for the night in which fans jumped moshed and enjoyed every second of the evening.
The setlist was perfectly structured for any lover of this band as they had the right mix of everything from the early days all the way to the shape of the band now.
'Outta My Head' 'Hell of It' 'Dead and Gone' 'Remedy' and one of my personal favourites 'Secrets' were all the highlights of my night. These feel like songs that couldn't ever be removed from my dream setlist and I image most State Champs fans.
The night was an incredible journey of where Pop Punk has been, and where it currently sits. The scene is still so strong with bands like Broadside and The Home Team coming through, while the now veterans such as State Champs carry the torch and set the standard for how other bands should be.
