The Enemy continue their latest tour with a long overdue trip to Hull and the Yorkshire crowd were more than ready for it.
Anyone who grew up loving indie rock definitely had The Enemy on repeat at one point or another. We'll Live and Die in These Towns is a staple album in my lie and I'm sure I won't be the only person to admit that.
The room was a full mix of generations and groups of people, which is another thing I love about this band, it doesn't matter what genre of music you normally listen to, or what "group" you belong with, whether you're a punk, a chav, indie kid, metal, whatever, you were in that room.
Waiting impatiently, the lights went down and on walked the band.
Tom Clarke telling the crowd that they needed to give more from their cheers to prove they're from Yorkshire and as the crowd erupted, on the night goes, opening with "Aggro"
The start of the set was very strongly brought to you by their debut album "We'll Live and Die in These Towns" and then we were introduced to their latest single"Not Going Your Way" which is again an absolute banger of a song and very much what you'd expect from a band like The Enemy.
Quickly followed by that was the anthem and title track of We'll Live and Die which the crowd absolutely erupted and could have easily been a room with tens of thousands of people in attendance with how loud it was sang back.
As the night went on we were treated to 'Technodanceaphobic' '40 days and 40 nights' Happy Birthday Jane' and to close the night 'No Time for Tears' and the incredible 'This Song'
This band will forever be one of my favourites and this show was one of the best I've seen them. The new single and new album have given the band a whole new energy to go out and bring the energy and I can't wait for the release to see how they are on that tour.
Keep your eyes out for what's to come from the lads, cause it's only going to get better.
