The Libertines headline Halifax's Piece Hall before big Gunnersbury Park show.

The Libertines are one of the biggest names to come out of the early 2000's indie scene and Carl and Peter have made a huge impact on the music scene and to finally catch one of my favourite bands in possibly my favourite UK venue, I couldn't wait to see what they'd pull out.
Carl, Peter, John and Gary all walked onto the stage greeted by an absolute thunderous cheer from the crowd, you would have thought it was a homecoming show and within a flash the lads broke into "Up The Bracket" "The Delaney" and "What Became of The Likely Lads" and this set the tone and tempo for the rest of the night.
Talking to the Yorkshire crowd throughout and the fans eating out the palm of their hands as they performed hit after hit. "What Katie Did" "Shiver" and "Music When The Lights Go Out" all shortly followed as the crowd sang along like one big choir.
There was a small pause in the show as security and the band noticed an issue down the front where fans at the barrier were starting to be crushed, So Gary asked the crowd to calm down a little so everybody could have a good time.
With that, the band were back on stage and back into the set as if nothing had happened.
This band have been a huge part of my youth, my teen years and now my adult years, I've seen them on every tour they've done in the last 3 years or so and they just seem to get better every time. They've really found their peace and you can see the love and joy they share when up on the stage together.
The night ended with two massive sing-a-longs in "Time for Heroes" and "Don't Look Back Into The Sun"
Just like that the night is done, but even walking back to the car hearing fans buzz about what they'd just watched and singing amongst themselves to wherever they headed to, it truly was a stunning moment to be a Libertines fan.
