You Me At Six are saying farewell after being together 20 years and releasing some of the best pop-punk/Alternative rock songs on the scene.
After releasing their first EP in 2006, it wasn't long before the world was about to be taken by storm with the release of "Save it for the Bedroom" in 2008 which to this day is beloved by everyone even if you're not a fan of the band.
The band have gone on to release 8 studio albums and apart from the very early addition of Dan Flint on drums, the band have kept the same line up through its career, which is not always found in current times with members coming and going frequently from some bands.
You Me At Six have always kept a very strong core fanbase who have stood by them through every release and have helped the band achieve great success and seen the band play festivals up and down the UK as well as hitting mainland Europe and Warped Tour festival in the US.
This tour has been treated with so much care and respect from the team within the bands camp as well as by the fans. At Slam Dunk 2024 the band had a hearse on site so people could start to say goodbye and on their tour the band are having a wake in every city before the shows, which gives fans a simple yet beautiful farewell touch.
Unfortunately for the lads, Dan suffered a horrible injury to his back which has restricted him from being able to play any of the farewell dates up to now, which for home fans will be devastating but for his brothers in the band it must be so difficult to say goodbye without him banging the drums in the back.
Each night has been a touching goodbye with fans getting emotional and the band playing essentially their 'Greatest Hits' and everyone always has the same reaction. We were so incredibly lucky to grow up at the same time as You Me At Six releasing the albums they did, it feels like we all grew older together.
From being the young outcast teenagers filled with angst not knowing where we belong in the world, to being grown adults with full time jobs and families showing our kids the early songs that got us into the band in the first place.
I hope this isn't a long goodbye, but even if it is. We thank you for everything you've brought us.
